- •App: An app is a software that helps you with work in Lark, which can be built by Lark, third parties, or by your own team. They can connect a service or tool to Lark or meet a specific demand.
- •Bot: A bot can help you process messages automatically to improve efficiency. Bots are designed to send and receive chat messages. Bots can send messages to you when a subscribed event takes place. Some bots can also chat with you.
- •Custom App: Using the Open Platform API, developed by internal staff or authorized developers of the company, reviewed by the company administrators, and used by internal staff.
Use a custom app
Once your custom app has been reviewed and published, it will appear in your Workplace.
Click the app icon to enter the app page.
Note: If your custom app has only enabled the bot feature, then when you click the app icon, you are navigated to the chat with the bot.
Open the bot from the app page
If your custom app has enabled both the gadget feature and the bot feature, you can quickly open your chat with the bot from the app page.
In the app page, click the bot icon in the top right corner.
In the app page, click the "..." button, then select Bot.
Use Lark's search function to search for your custom app, the results are displayed in the dropdown. According to the badge displayed next to the app title, you can choose whether to launch the app, or to enter your chat with the app's bot.
View app information
All apps use the same navigation menu. Click More - About in the top right corner to access app information, such as name and version number.
Some mobile apps might require permissions from users, for example, to access user's geographic location. You can change the associated permission settings in this page.
