Q: What's a super administrator and an administrator?
A: Lark has two kinds of administrators: Administrator and Super Administrator.
Super Administrator
- •Founder: The person who created the tenant account is the first super administrator by default, and has all the management permissions in Lark Admin. This role can be transferred to others. The founder can also add other users as super administrators. But other super administrators can't dissolve the company. The founder is the most special super administrator, and the only one who can dissolve the company.
- •Super administrator: All super administrators have the permission to add other users as super administrators or administrators. A company can have multiple super administrators, but the maximum number of super administrators is limited to 100.
Administrator
- •Admin scope: Super administrators can add other users as super administrators or administrators. Administrators only have partial management permissions, which depend on the scope super administrators set for them. For example, there are administrators who can only manage company's information, and administrators who can only manage company's apps.
Q: How to add users as administrators?
A: Super administrators can add other users as super administrators or administrators as follows:
Step 1: Select user. After login to Lark Admin, super administrators can click Settings - Administrator Permissions. Then select the Administrator tab, click Add User, and then select users to be added. Step 2: Set permissions. If you want to give the administrator rights to share his permissions with others, you can check the box before Can manage other administrators, and then the administrator can give others the same permissions as his or her own admin scope.
Step 3: Set Admin scope. The super administrator needs to set the admin scope for the newly added administrator. If the administrator can only manage Users and Departments, Meeting Rooms, App Management, and Billing, then only check the boxes of these 4 categories.
Note:
- •If the added administrator has the right to manage the apps, the super administrator also needs to set a scope for the app he or she can manage.
Q: How can employees contact super administrators?
A: There are two ways for employees to contact super administrators.
Method 1: Contact IT staff in your enterprise. They'll contact super administrators.
Method 2: Contact administrative staff in the enterprise. They'll contact super administrators.
