How can I transfer the ownership of a Doc?
Click Share, find the user you want to transfer the document ownership to in the collaborator list, and on the permissions setting click Set as owner.
Note: Only the current document owner can set a new owner for a document and document ownership can't be transferred to an external user.
Why can't I find the Set as owner option?
If you can't see the Set as owner option, this means you are not the owner of the current document. Only the document owner can use this function.
How can I transfer the ownership of a folder?
When you transfer the ownership of a folder, this affects all sub-folders as well.
- 1.Click ... to the right of the folder and select Share.
- 2.Enter the name of a member in the box and select Set as owner next to this name. Alternatively, click the profile photo to open the collaborator list and set the permission for a collaborator to Set as owner.
How can I transfer the ownership of multiple docs?
Normal users can transfer ownership of a folder and any file inside it, by selecting Also transfer my ownership of any subfolders and files. This will transfer the ownership of all documents in the folder and its sub-folders.
Who owns the documents and folders previously owned by employees who have resigned?
When employees resign, all their documents and folders are packaged into a single folder and transferred to their direct manager by default. This folder is named XXX's personal documents.
To hand over these documents and folders to a specified employee, please have the ex-employee share or transfer ownership of these resources to this person before leaving.
