This article is to guide super administrators through the procedures of customizing, creating, and disabling a member type.
I. Function Overview
- •Lark super administrators can disable a predefined member type or add a custom member type in Lark Admin.
- •It will take effect on subsequent new member type in user creation, modification, and search scenarios.
On Lark, click the Lark Admin button in the profile photo pop-up to go to Lark Admin.
In Lark Admin , choose Organizational structure - Members and departments. Click Add Members, and find the "Member Type" field in Add more Info-Job Info. Then click Manage member types in the top right corner of the field to open the management pop-up.
Or click the name of any user, then click Edit on the details page on the right side, and a drop-down page will appear. Find the “Member type“ field on the page, and click Manage member types in the top right corner of the field to open the management pop-up.
- 1.Create a custom option
Click Create option in the pop-up and enter the option name. Click the Earth button on the right side of the option to enter the multilingual names of the option.
Click Confirm in the bottom right corner of the pop-up to save the created option.
Note: Names of created options can’t be duplicated. Newly created options are enabled by default.
- 2.Delete a custom option
You are only allowed to delete custom options. To do so, click the Delete button on the right side of the option, and click Confirm to delete the option.
Note: If a member already chooses this custom option, you must set the member status to offboarded or modify its member type to delete this option.
- 3.Enable or disable an option
You can enable or disable either a predefined option or a custom option. To do so, choose Toggle Switch - Confirm to enable or disable an option.
Note: If an option is disabled, members won’t be able to choose a option.
- 4.Manage a default option
A default option is selected when the member type of a user is not available. You can modify this option to change its default value.
Note: The default option must be enabled.
