Overview
By using Link sharing, you can generate a link to share docs or shared folders, and give view or edit permission to all members (of the company of your Lark account) or all external users on the Internet.
How to use Link sharing?
Use Link sharing in docs
Share docs within your organization
- •Grant viewing permission to colleagues: Click Share, enable Link sharing, and select People in the organization with the link can view, then click Copy link.
- •Grant editing permission to colleagues: Click Share, enable Link sharing, and select People in the organization with the link can edit, then click Copy link.
Share docs with colleagues and external users:
- •Grant viewing permission: Click Share, enable Link sharing, and select Anyone with the link can view, then click Copy link. In this way, anyone who receives the link can view docs without logging in to Lark.
- •Grant editing permission: Click Share, enable Link sharing, and select Anyone with the link can edit, then click Copy link. In this way, anyone who receives the link can edit docs when logging in to Lark.
Note: when a doc can be accessed by people outside your organization, it will be labeled as External on the right of the doc's name.

Share folders within your organization
- •Grant view permission to colleagues: Click the Share button on the right of the folder's page, enable Link sharing, and select People in the organization with the link can view.
- •Grant edit permission to colleagues: Click Share, enable Link sharing, and select People in the organization with the link can edit.
Share folders with external users:
- •Click Share, enable Link sharing, and select Anyone with the link can access. In this way, anyone who receives the link can access the shared folder without logging in to Lark.

Q: Who can turn on Link sharing?
A: Only the doc or shared folder's owner can turn on Link sharing.
Q: Can I set a password protected link for docs?
A: When you choose Anyone with the link can view/edit, you can set password for the link to ensure security. In this way, people outside your organization will need to use a password to access the doc. Members in your organization will not be affected by the password setting.

A: When you choose Anyone with the link can access, you can set password for the link to ensure security. In this way, people outside your organization will need to use a password to access the folder. Members in your organization will not be affected by the password setting.
Q: Can external users view the collaborator list and collaborator profile photos?
A: To protect the privacy of company members, external users can't view the collaborator list but can see collaborator profile photos of whom are browsing docs.
Q: Why is a user who hasn't logged into Lark browsing my Docs?
A: If you have set Anyone with the link can view or Anyone with the link can edit for your docs, anyone with the docs link (including users who haven't logged into Lark) can view or edit it. When Non logged in user xxx is displayed on the profile photo, it means a user who hasn't logged into Lark is currently browsing the doc.
Q: Why can't I set Link sharing as Anyone with the link can view/edit?
A: To share docs with external users, make sure your company administrator has enabled Allow documents to be shared externally, or none of the Docs, Sheets, or files under your account can be shared with external users.
Q: How can I share a Doc with an external user?
A: To share a Doc with an external user, you'll need to add the user on Lark, then invite the user as Doc collaborator or use the link sharing function to share the Doc.
