What's a public calendar?
A public calendar is available to all and every member can subscribe to it. Subscribers can view all event details in the calendar. A member can create multiple public calendars for the convenience of sharing information on different subjects and events with the team.
What is an all-staff calendar?
All-staff calendars can be created by administrators. During creation, administrators can configure the scope of subscription, and the scope of members that are automatically subscribed to this calendar. All-staff calendars are suitable for sharing information on events that are related to all or some members, such as holiday schedules and public lectures. After an administrator creates an all-staff calendar in the admin console, the calendar will be automatically synced to team members' personal calendars.
What are the differences between a public calendar and an all-staff calendar?
- 1.Permission to create calendar: A public calendar can be created by any team member, while an all-staff calendar can only be created by the administrator.
- 2.Calendar subscription method: While members need to search for a public calendar to subscribe to it manually, all members are subscribed to an all-staff calendar automatically. Members within the administrator's configured scope of subscription are automatically subscribed.
Note: When the subscription scope of an all-staff calendar is set to some members, the administrator can set the calendar to Other members can search, so that members outside the scope can search for and subscribe to this calendar.
- 3.Displayed position: On the Calendar page, public calendars are displayed in Subscribed calendars section, while all-staff calendars are displayed in the My calendars section.
