I. Function overview
You can insert a mind map into Docs and edit it in collaboration with other team members to creatively visualize and track thoughts. With this feature, you can save the effort of exporting, taking screenshots and pasting them again and again, as you do in other mind map software.
II. Procedure
- •Enter text: Double-click a node, or select a node and then press the Space key to enter text. Alternatively, you can use the @function on a node to insert a Doc link or @mention others.
- ◦Sibling node: You can right-click a node and select Insert sibling node or use the Enter key to add a sibling node.
- ◦Child node: You can right-click a node and select Insert child node, click + on the right side of the node, or use the Tab key to add a child node.
- ◦Parent node: You can right-click a node and select Insert parent node or use the Shift + Tab key combination to add a parent node.
- •Drag a node: You can press and hold a node and then drag the mouse to move the node to the desired position.
- ◦Zoom in and out: You can click Zoom in and Zoom out to adjust the view size.
- ◦Original size and Best fit: You can click on a view to set its size to Original size (100%) or Best fit (fit the current mind map).
- ◦Style: You can adjust the Structure, Branch line and Style (Light and Dark) of a mind map.
- ◦Node style: You can set Bold, Italic, Underline and Highlight styles for the node, edit description, andComplete or Activate the node.
- ◦Add image: You can Add image at this node.
- •Scroll canvas: You can use the scroll bar, shortcut keys (Space key + mouse clicks and moves), or the touch pad of a notebook to scroll the canvas.
- •Zoom in: You can use the shortcut keys ⌘ + (Mac) or Ctrl + (Windows), ⌘ and scroll wheel (Mac) or Ctrl and scroll wheel (Windows), or the touch pad of a notebook to zoom in on the canvas.
- •Zoom out: You can use the shortcut keys ⌘ - (Mac) or Ctrl - (Windows), ⌘ and scroll wheel (Mac) or Ctrl and scroll wheel (Windows), or the touch pad of a notebook to zoom out on the canvas.
- •Adjust canvas height: You can drag up and down the bottom border of a mind map to adjust its height.
Note: Canvas width can’t be adjusted for the time being.
- 3.Full-screen view or edit
You can double-click on a blank area in the mind map, or click the Full screen button on the toolbar to enter the full-screen mode to easily view and edit.
III. FAQs
Q: How can I import a mind map from a MindNote to a Doc?
A: First, log in to MindNotes. Right-click the central node with a blue background in the mind map mode, select Copy, and then paste the mind map to a blank area in the Doc.
Q: How can I create a black mind map?
A: In the toolbar on top of the mind map, change the style to Dark.
Q: How can I edit a node?
A: Right-click a node and select Drill down into a node to enjoy an immersive editing experience. Then you can click the title in the upper-left corner to return to the original view. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut keys ⌘ + [ (Mac) or Ctrl + [ (Windows) to return to the node of the upper level.
Q: Does mind map support multi-user collaborative edits?
A: Yes, simultaneous editing by multiple users is supported.
Q: How can I leave a comment on a mind map?
A: Click the mind map and a toolbar will appear at the top. You can click Add comment in the toolbar to leave a comment on the mind map.
Note: You can’t leave a comment on a specific node for the time being.
Q: Does the mind map support canvas width adjustment?
A: No, this feature isn't supported for now.
Q: Does the mind map support node connecting lines, overviews, icons and other features?
A: No, these features aren't supported for now.
Q: Can I insert the mind map of a MindNote by using the @ feature?
