I. Function overview
A new table type is now available! Now you can use Bitable grid view and kanban view in Docs and Sheets. Bitable is an innovative table form that facilitates structured organization of content. It helps you display the single source of truth in different views. Bitable can also add flexibility and efficiency to project management, with easier to-do lists and clearer and better targeted information collection, allowing your work efficiency to soar.
II. Use Bitable in Docs
- 1.Insert a Bitable to Doc
Hover your mouse over +, and choose Bitable - Grid or Bitable - Kanban in the floating menu to insert a Bitable.
Note: Bitable grid and kanban tables share the same features. The only difference lies in their default view, with the former being a grid view and the latter being a kanban view.

- •Add a field in a kanban view: Click a card in the kanban to expand it and then select Add field at the bottom of the kanban.
III. Use Bitable in Sheets
Click the + button to create a Bitable. You can choose to create a Bitable grid, a Bitable kanban or Create from template.
Note: Bitable grid and kanban tables share the same features. The only difference lies in their default view, with the former being a grid view and the latter being a kanban view.
- •Grid view: Data is presented in the form of a table. This view is applicable to displaying grouped information for statistics, and you can add a tag to each row of information.
- •Kanban view: Data is presented in the form of cards. This view is applicable to managing project tasks and processes.
- 2.Create or edit a Bitable view
You can create multiple views to show data in Bitable in different ways. The views in the same table share the same data source. A change to the data in any view will result in a corresponding change in all other views.
Create a view: Click << in the upper-left corner of Bitable to expand the view panel where you can click Create to create a grid view or a kanban view.
Edit a view name: Click << in the upper-left corner of Bitable to expand the view panel where you can double-click the view name or click ... on the right side of the view name to rename the view.
Delete a view: Click << in the upper-left corner of Bitable to expand the view panel where you can click ... on the right side of the view name to delete the view.
- 3.Add or edit a field or record
In Bitable, each column is regarded as a field, and each row is regarded as a record. You can set the field type of each column, that is, the data format in the column, such as numbers, dates, single choices, multiple choices, and attachments, so that only data in the set format can be entered in this column.
Add a field: Click + in the upper-right corner of Bitable and then select the field type you want to add.
Edit a field type: Double-click on the column header or click the triangle icon on the column header, re-select a type for the column and rename the field.
Delete a field: Right-click on the column header, and select Delete field/column in the context menu to delete the field.
IV. Bitable templates
Bitable provides a diversity of templates for your convenience. You can select Create from template and select a template to create a table.
