About Slack Connector
Slack Connector is an app developed to offer you a single place where you can set up and manage automated workflows between Lark and Slack.
By automating workflows, you can receive all your Slack notifications such as messages, mentions, reactions, and file updates, all in Lark. You can also apply advanced workflows such as adding a new row on a Lark spreadsheet whenever your team creates a new file on Slack.
You can install Slack Connector app from the Lark App Directory. In case you see an alert that Slack Connector hasn't been enabled or installed in your organization, please contact your administrator.
While Slack Connector runs on both desktop and mobile, it's recommended to use the desktop version for better user experience.
To set up and use the Slack Connector, you'll need:
- 1.Connect to your Zapier account
Launch Slack Connector from the Lark Workplace, and click Connect to Zapier. Log in to your Zapier account and authorize the app to use the required permissions by following the prompts.
Note: There are known issues when logging in via Facebook. We recommend that you use an alternative login method.
Once Slack Connector is connected to your Zapier account, you'll redirected to the app homepage.
- 2.Create new Lark + Slack integrations
In the app homepage section for Create new Lark + Slack integrations, check out our Popular templates to get started.
To use a template, click Try it to open the configuration page on your web browser.
Note: If you've never signed in to Zapier in this Web browser before, in this step you'll need to do that first before continue.
Click Go to Advanced Mode at the bottom of the page to specify all required fields in the workflow. Make sure to test the triggers and actions in your workflow before you turn it on.
If the provided templates don't cover all your scenarios, go to Build customized workflows where you can mix and match triggers and actions for your custom workflows. To know more on how to create a customized workflow in Zapier, visit How to create a Zap
Note: If the actions of your workflow involve sending private or group messages in Lark, note that the associated messages will be sent by the Zapier Connector bot.
- 3.Manage existing Lark + Slack Integrations
The app homepage section for Manage existing Lark + Slack integrations displays the Lark + Slack workflows associated to your current Lark account. Select a workflow to edit it on your web browser.
To log out from your current Zapier account on Lark, select the profile icon on the top-right corner and click Log Out. Next time you can log in to the same account without entering your credentials.
To switch to a different Zapier account, you must exit the Slack Connector by clicking your profile photo > Log Out. Then you can connect other Zapier accounts.
On the top-right corner of the app, click the question icon to view this article, or the headset icon to chat with your Lark Assistant.
Can I use Slack Connector in conjunction with Zapier?
Yes, you can do it either on Lark or directly on Zapier. Yet, only Slack + Lark Zaps will show up in Lark.
When I complete and turn on a Zap from a template, why doesn't it work, and the test also fails?
Make sure you've entered Go to Advanced Mode during the set-up, filled in all required fields, and tested triggers and actions before you turn it on.
When I try to set up a Zap to send messages to Lark group chats, why can't I find the chat I want from the chat list on Zapier?
You'll need to add the Zapier Connector bot into the Lark group chat so it can appear on the list.
Why the Zap I've successfully set up between Lark and Slack doesn't show up in "Managing existing Lark + Slack Integrations"?
Please double check the Lark account you used for setting up this Zap is exactly the same as your current Lark account (same identify and same tenant). Otherwise, it won't show up.
