Lark is committed to providing the best video meeting, screen sharing, and livestreaming experience. However, network bandwidth plays a decisive role in the quality of video meetings, and insufficient bandwidth may lead to blurry or frozen video, or loading issues in screen sharing. To ensure a high-quality meeting and livestreaming experience, please make sure that the following bandwidth requirements are met.
Recommended bandwidth for individual meeting participants
- 1.Uplink
1.1 Audio
A bandwidth of 64 Kbps is required to send audio.
1.2 Video
Lark mobile app
- •A bandwidth of 0.7 Mbps is required to send high-quality video.
Lark desktop app and web app
- •A bandwidth of 2 Mbps is required to send high-quality video.
Note: If the network connection is poor, Lark will automatically adjust the bandwidth it uses to as low as 0.2 Mbps.
1.3 Screen sharing
A bandwidth of 2 Mbps is required to share your screen.
- 2.Downlink
2.1 Audio
A bandwidth of 192 Kbps is required to receive audio.
2.2 Video (Requirements may vary based on the number of participants and devices)
Lark mobile app
- •For gallery view, a bandwidth of 0.7 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps is required to receive video.
- •For thumbnail view, a bandwidth of 0.9 Mbps to 2.2 Mbps is required to receive video.
Lark desktop app and web app
- •For gallery view, a bandwidth of 0.7 Mbps to 2.1 Mbps is required to receive video.
- •For speaker view, a bandwidth of 1.5 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps is required to receive video.
- •For thumbnail view, a bandwidth of 0.9 Mbps to 2.2 Mbps is required to receive video.
2.3 Screen sharing
A bandwidth of 0.9 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps is required to receive video.
- 3.How to estimate outbound bandwidth
The maximum outbound bandwidth of a company's public network depends on the number of devices that are used to participate in a video meeting at the same time. The uplink or downlink bandwidth can be estimated based on the maximum concurrent number of devices in use multiplied by 2 Mbps.
For example, in a company with 10,000 employees, if 500 devices are used to participate in a video meeting at the same site concurrently, the recommended uplink and downlink bandwidth is 1 Gbps.
Recommended bandwidth for individual livestream viewers
- 1.Uplink
A bandwidth of 2 Mbps is required to start a 720p livestream.
- 2.Downlink
A bandwidth of 2 Mbps is required to watch a 720p livestream.
- 3.How to estimate outbound bandwidth
The maximum outbound bandwidth of a company's public network depends on the number of devices that are used to watch the livestream at the same time. The downlink bandwidth can be estimated based on the maximum concurrent number of devices in use multiplied by 2 Mbps.
For example, in a company with 10,000 employees, if 500 devices are used to watch a livestream at the same site concurrently, the recommended downlink bandwidth is 1 Gbps.
