Microsoft Teams Connector allows you to connect Lark with your Microsoft Teams account through automated workflows of Zapier, an online automation tool.
About Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is a proprietary business communication platform developed by Microsoft, as part of the Microsoft 365 family of products. It offers workspace chat, videoconferencing, file storage, and app integration that replaces other Microsoft-operated business messaging and collaboration platforms, including Skype for Business and Microsoft Classroom. Teams has become increasingly popular as many meetings are now done virtually. To learn more, visit Introducing Microsoft Teams.
About Microsoft Teams Connector
Microsoft Teams Connector is an app developed based on the capabilities of Zapier, a popular online automation tool. Microsoft Teams Connector offers a place for you to set up and centrally manage automated workflows between Lark and Microsoft Teams.
This way, you can get notified on most updates happening in your Microsoft Teams account such as new messages, mentions, chats, members, and more, all without leaving Lark. To learn more, visit Lark x Microsoft Teams Integrations by Zapier. You can install the Microsoft Teams Connector app from the Lark App Directory. In case you see an alert that Microsoft Teams Connector hasn't been enabled or installed in your organization, please ask your administrator to enable it for your tenant.
While Microsoft Teams Connector runs on both desktop and mobile, it's recommended to use the desktop version for a better user experience.
To set up and use the Microsoft Teams Connector, you'll need:
- 1.Connect to your Zapier account
Launch Microsoft Teams Connector from the Lark Workplace, and click Connect to Zapier. Log in to your Zapier account and follow the prompts to authorize Zapier to use required permissions.
Note: There are known issues when logging in via Facebook. We recommend that you use a different login method.
Once the Microsoft Teams Connector is connected to your Zapier account, you will be directed to the homepage of the app.
- 2.Create new Lark + Microsoft Teams integrations
Now you can start building workflows between Lark and Microsoft Teams.
Method 1: Create template-based workflows
In Create new Lark + Microsoft Teams integrations, check Popular templates to get started.
To use a template, click Try it to open the configuration page in your web browser.
Note: If you haven't signed in to Zapier in this web browser, please do so before continuing.
Click Go to Advanced Mode at the bottom of the page to specify all required fields in the workflow. Make sure to test the triggers and actions in your workflow before you turn it on.
Method 2: Create customized workflows
If the provided templates aren't sufficient, go to Build customized workflows to mix and match triggers and actions for your custom workflows. To learn more, visit How to create a Zap.
Note: If the actions of your workflow involve sending private or group messages in Lark, note that the associated messages will be sent by the Zapier Connector bot.
- 3.Manage existing Lark + Microsoft Teams integrations
The app homepage Manage existing Lark + Microsoft Teams integrations section displays the Lark + Microsoft Teams workflows that are associated to your current Lark account. Select a workflow to edit it in your web browser.
To disconnect your current Zapier account from Lark, click profile photo > Log Out at the top-right corner. Next time you can log in to the same Zapier account without entering your credentials.
To switch to a different Zapier account, you must also exit the Microsoft Teams Connector by clicking your profile photo > Log Out. Then you can connect to your other Zapier accounts.
At the top-right corner of the app, click the question icon to view this article. You can also click the headset icon to chat with your Lark Assistant for further help.
Can I use the Microsoft Teams Connector in conjunction with Zapier?
Yes. You can do it either within our app or directly on Zapier but only Microsoft Teams x Lark Zaps will show up here in the app.
Why when I try to create a Zap from a template, although I complete and turn it on, it doesn't seem to work, and the test also fails?
Make sure you've entered Go to Advanced Mode during the set-up, filled in all required fields, and tested the triggers and actions before you turn it on.
Why when I try to set up a Zap involving sending messages to Lark group chats, I can't find the chat I want from the list of chats on Zapier?
You'll need to add the Zapier Connector bot into a Lark group chat before the chat can appear for selection.
Why the Zap I have successfully set up between Lark and Microsoft Teams doesn't show up in the "Managing existing Lark + Microsoft Teams Integrations"?
