The group owner or group administrator can decide if the group shows up on searches, to make it more convenient for members to join.
- •Open the group and click Settings > Group settings on the toolbar on the right to enter the group management page.
- •Check Find group via search to allow members to search and join the group directly. If the option is unchecked, only invited members will be allowed to join this group.
- •After turning on Find group via search for the first time, enter the group name and description. To modify, click Settings > Edit group information.
- •After permissions are changed, group members will receive a prompt. After turning on Find group via search, a Public label will be shown next to the group name.
Will dissolved groups show up in searches?
Can external groups enable Find group via search?
No. This feature isn't currently supported.
Can I turn on group verification and Find group via search at the same time?
Yes. Once members search and find groups, they need to enter their reason for joining the group. Once approved by the group owner or administrators, members will let into the group.
After I enable Find group via search, can I set whether new members can view chat history after they join the group?
No. By default, all new members can view chat history after joining the group.
