Grameen Nippon was established in 2018 as the Japanese version of Grameen Bank, a microfinance institution established in Bangladesh by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, whose work was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. Grameen Nippon leverages Grameen Bank’s expertise to provide microfinance, mainly to single mothers and women in informal labor who are in need, and to create employment and new business opportunities in partnership with various companies and organizations. The main goal is to encourage people to take the first step.

Since its inception in 2018, Grameen Nippon has been growing at a rapid pace, creating the need for a proper all-in-one collaboration platform that would help to unify key business functions.

The system that the company was using at the time, Cybozu, was unable to meet Grameen Nippon’s demands and a new platform that could be implemented with as little down time as possible was needed.

The realities of COVID-19 also impacted the organization, putting a greater emphasis on online communication, especially video conferencing.

There was also a greater need to facilitate the transfer and management of important documents.
