Challenges faced

PJ Chonburi Parawood, a leading Thai manufacturer and exporter of home products, faced multiple operational challenges that hindered their efficiency across departments. As they expanded their business globally, they encountered the following hurdles:

  • Production line monitoring: Real-time tracking of production lines and machine productivity was cumbersome, with management wanting to see productivity and waste reports twice a day.

  • Document control: Managing over 2500 documents for more than 1000 SKUs was slow and inefficient, with critical approval processes handled via email.

  • Sales data: Dispersed sales data from various retail platforms was difficult to collect and report.

  • QC inspections & incident reporting: Managing inspections and incident reports was inefficient, with paper-based tracking leading to delays in resolution.

  • Employee engagement: Low engagement and a lack of communication from management caused disengagement within the workforce.

Faced with these challenges. PJ Chonburi Parawood needed a solution to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and increase engagement.

How Lark transformed operations

Streamlined real-time reporting for production lines

Before Lark, factory managers and high-level leaders had to manually log into the ERP system every time to view reports, which was inefficient. It also made monitoring product lines in real time troublesome. Now that the team uses Lark, they’ve connected the Lark bot with their machines in the product line through APIs. This lets the Lark bot provide reports to the team and notify them of problems instantly. In addition, it allowed management to track machine output and identify issues faster, optimizing production processes and making reports more accessible.

Custom approval flows and a company wiki

Managing document approvals was a challenge, with teams relying on Google Docs and Sheets for document generation, and LINE for communication. Now, with Lark Approval, each team has set up its own approval flow to streamline document update requests. In addition, with Lark Approval connected directly with Lark Messenger in one app, the team avoids having to switch between tools.

In addition, rather than jumping between Google Docs and Sheets, the company now uses Lark Wiki to write and collect information about its products and SOPs, creating a single source of truth that employees can easily access right from within the Lark app.

Unified system for managing sales figures across channels

The lack of a unified platform for sales tracking was causing inefficiencies. With Lark, sales figures from different sales channels are automatically integrated into Lark Base through APIs. This gave the sales team and management real-time visibility of performance across channels, helping them make informed decisions and stay on top of sales trends.

Simplified management of QC inspections and incident reports

Previously, Quality Control (QC) inspections and incident reporting were handled manually through pen and paper. This made completing these tasks slow and inefficient. Now, with Lark Base, these tasks including Corrective Action Requests (CARs) can be managed through both desktop and mobile, enabling easier tracking of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions while on the go. This streamlined the process, significantly reduced manual work, and ensured quicker response times across the team.

Cultivated a culture of engagement and sharing

Before Lark, communication within the company was one-sided—management would send out announcements, but employees had no way to share their thoughts or feedback, leaving them disengaged. With the introduction of Lark Moments, PJ Chonburi Parawood created a platform where both management and employees could share updates, activities, and knowledge. This two-way communication channel allowed the team to post updates, react to announcements, and contribute insights, fostering a culture of employee engagement and knowledge sharing.

In addition, Lark Workplace became the central hub for internal communication, providing employees with one-stop access to company announcements, updates, and essential tools. This eliminated the need to sift through lengthy email threads and made information more accessible to everyone. By utilizing both Lark Moments and Lark Workplace, the company streamlined communication, improving efficiency and engagement across the board.
